Mind. Blown. (Daniel 10)

Fair warning: You might want to sit down for this.

There are a handful of verses in the book of Daniel that will blow your mind and then change your world.

In Daniel 10:4-14, there is a situation where Daniel has been fasting and praying for weeks about a specific thing and getting no answer from God. (Can you relate?) Finally, an angel appears to him and says this:

“Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come to respond to them. But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia.” (Daniel 10:12-13)

What. In. The. World?!?

When we are praying and waiting and praying and waiting…it doesn’t enter our minds that an actual spiritual battle is going on, causing the delay to the answer that we are seeking. This shouldn’t worry us; God is far more powerful than the powers of darkness. He will always succeed. Always. Every single time. But spiritual battles are being waged all around us, and we would be wise to be aware of it.
