Don’t you love the way the book of John ends? “Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written (John 21:25).”

This verse reminds us two important things. First, the gospels were written down by real, live people who got to actually experience much of what they wrote about. John’s personal note of “I suppose” here and the obvious reference to himself as “the disciple that Jesus loved” in John 13:23, was his way of identifying himself as a witness to what he was writing.

The concluding verse of John also reminds us of the great goodness and power of our Savior. No doubt, John sat back after he concluded and thought, “Oh, I should have told them about this… This story was awesome! I wonder if I should have included…” There were so many other things that he could have added! But he had told his story. The exact one that God expected him to write down.

John’s story had power- the power to change lives because it points people to Jesus. Our God stories have power also. Tell yours! Even practice them so that you are prepared to tell people what Jesus has done in your life and invite them to allow Him to work in their hearts and lives as well.
